Hygiena International Ltd. has developed a new rapid detection system able to detect specific bacteria thanks to a modification in the reaction of the Bioluminescence-ATP.
The test uses a new bioluminogenic reaction that generates light when enzymes that are characteristic or specific to a given bacterium react with specialized substrates to produce light. The emitted light is quantified in a portable and sensitive luminometer (EnSURE). The results are available between 1 and 7 hours depending on the level of contamination. The system has been validated and offers many advantages and practical applications.
For the detection of Listeria spp and Salmonella spp, Hygiena has rapid colorimetric tests and without the need of using an instrument.
